Surveying Services in Wigan
Library / College surveying
We were initially engaged to conduct a Measured Building Survey at the Grade II listed former library/college at Railway Road, Leigh. This building was in re-development to modern contemporary flats. Our capture model survey allows the architect to redesign the interior of the property to maximise space.
Later in the year, we returned to the property to undertake further utility mapping and a CCTV Drainage Survey. These additional surveys were essential for assessing the impact of the redevelopment on the local drainage system. The utility mapping provided critical information about the location and condition of underground services, while the CCTV Drainage Survey offered a detailed view of the drainage infrastructure. This data was crucial for ensuring that the new development would not adversely affect the local drainage and that any necessary modifications could be planned and executed effectively.
Additionally, we were asked to conduct additional scans for a 3D virtual tour. This innovative step was designed to aid in the marketing and sale of the flats, providing potential buyers with a comprehensive and immersive view of the property. The 3D virtual tour highlighted our ability to leverage advanced technology to enhance the client’s marketing efforts and attract prospective buyers.
The Measured Building Survey was executed using a combination of a Trimble X7 and Leica RTC360, controlled with TMMS receivers and Total Station to ensure the highest level of accuracy. The Trimble X7 provided high-speed 3D laser scanning capabilities, while the Leica RTC360 offered fast, precise data capture. The use of Total Station ensured that all measurements were accurate and reliable, providing a solid foundation for the redevelopment project.
This project showcased our capability in managing complex surveying tasks for redevelopment projects, particularly those involving historically significant buildings. Our comprehensive approach, from initial surveys to advanced utility mapping and 3D virtual tours, demonstrated our commitment to delivering precise, high-quality services. By effectively combining traditional surveying methods with cutting-edge technology, we ensured the success of the redevelopment project and reinforced our reputation as a leading provider of site surveying services.
